Nelson Lage has a degree in Political Science-International Relations and he has finishing an Executive Master in Management – Leadership Development, from Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, and has more than 10 years of professional experience in the public sector. At this time he is Senior International Affairs of the CEO/Directorate General at the Portuguese National Energy Agency. He started his career as a youth leader, coordinating international youth activities and several sociocultural programs. Nelson has more than seven years of experience working in Ministerial Cabinets as senior adviser and senior specialist in areas such as innovation, technology, energy, sustainable development, European policies and international affairs. This year he has lead several international business missions and official visits and participated in the drawing of national strategic documents.
Under the Portuguese National Energy Agency, where he currently works, he is responsible for the international arena, being the national focal point for CPLP Energy Network (Portuguese-speaking African countries Energy Network), establishing and monitoring international Energy Protocols/agreements; Supporting and Monitoring International Energy Projects; Supporting the CEO in International Affairs issues and Covenant of Mayor for Sub-Saharan Africa CEMR Project partner as International Affairs, Political and Local Communication Liaison, among other responsibilities.
Nelson has volunteer at International Amnesty Portugal, the Spanish Red Cross and Youth Red Cross. He was also member of the board of the NGO ADBES – Association for Development and Social and Welfare and is still a member of the board of Lux Vitae Association.
Nelson received several special recommendations from members of the Portuguese Government, diplomatic representation and recently a Certificate of Appreciation from the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr Gjorge Ivanov, for the contribution as lecturer in his 7th “International Training for Young Leaders”.
Nelson Lage is a member of the Board of the Foundation Alliance of Civilizations in Macedonia.
Numan Aruch was born in 1972 in Gostivar. He completed the primary and secondary education in Gostivar. He is a Doctor of philosophical sciences, and his specialty is the Philosophy of Averroes, Islamic and Turkish-Ottoman philosophy. He completed his BSC, MA and PhD at the largest and most prestigious Marmara University, Istanbul-Turkey. His PhD was on the philosophical topic “Educational philosophy of Averroes” at the Department of Philosophy of the Institute of Social Sciences at the Marmara University, Istanbul, in 2002.
Since 2004 he has been employed at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, at the Centre for Strategic Research, where he works today as a Professor. He is a member of world philosophical associations and turkophonic organizations.

Nenad Markovikj is an associate professor at the political science department of the Law Faculty “Justinian I” - Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. He has obtained his MA degree at the European Regional Master Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in Southeast Europe (ERMA) – University of Sarajevo/University of Bologna in 2003. Professor Markovikj defended his PhD thesis in 2010 at his home university. The topic was “The impact of civil society organizations on the democratic transition and consolidation in the Republic of Macedonia.” He is founder and a senior researcher in the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” – Skopje and a member of the editorial board of the quarterly magazine “Political thought”. His main interests are political theory, political philosophy, nationalism, civil society, political culture/myth etc.
